Plain-English policies for OrangeTill — because you deserve to know exactly how your information is used.
OrangeTill is built for small business owners, and we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We've written it in plain English on purpose.
When you sign up for OrangeTill or join our waitlist, we collect your email address. That's the primary identifier for your account — we use it to send you magic links to sign in, and to send occasional product updates and announcements if you've subscribed to our list.
When you set up OrangeTill to accept Bitcoin payments, you provide your Bitcoin wallet address (and optionally a Lightning Address). These are stored so the app can generate payment requests for your customers.
If you subscribe to a paid OrangeTill plan, your subscription and billing information is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or billing address — Stripe handles that securely on our behalf.
When you use the OrangeTill app or visit our website, we may collect standard usage data including pages visited, features used, session duration, and general device/browser information. This helps us understand how the product is being used and where we can improve it.
Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare, which may collect IP addresses, request logs, and other standard web traffic data as part of providing hosting, security, and performance services.
We do not sell your information. We do not share your email address or wallet addresses with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
OrangeTill has no visibility into who your customers are. When a customer pays you using OrangeTill, the transaction goes directly from their Bitcoin wallet to yours on the blockchain. We never see the customer's name, email address, wallet address, identity, or any other personal information. We have no mechanism to collect it and no interest in doing so.
This is by design. OrangeTill is a point-of-sale display tool, not a payment processor with a customer-facing account system. Your customers interact with their own wallets — not with OrangeTill.
If your business is subject to laws requiring you to collect or retain customer information — for example, certain regulated industries or high-value transaction reporting requirements — that is your obligation as the merchant. See the Customer data — your responsibility, not ours section in our Terms of Service for more detail.
OrangeTill uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.
Your account data is stored in Cloudflare's KV (key-value) storage infrastructure, which is distributed globally and protected by Cloudflare's security systems. We use session tokens to authenticate your app sessions, stored locally in your browser.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. If you have concerns about your account, contact us at [email protected].
OrangeTill is a business tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email if you're on our list. Your continued use of OrangeTill after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Questions about this policy or your data? We're a small team and happy to talk. Reach us at [email protected].

These Terms of Service govern your use of OrangeTill — our website at orangetill.com and our web application at orangetill.io. By using OrangeTill, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written to be readable.
OrangeTill is operated by Sofia Brands LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company doing business as OrangeTill. When we say "OrangeTill," "we," "us," or "our," we mean Sofia Brands LLC DBA OrangeTill.
OrangeTill is a point-of-sale tool that helps small businesses display Bitcoin payment QR codes to customers. We make it easy to accept Bitcoin at your business — but we are not a payment processor, a wallet provider, a financial institution, or a money transmitter.
OrangeTill displays payment addresses and generates QR codes. We do not hold, transmit, or take custody of any cryptocurrency. All transactions occur directly on the blockchain between your customer's wallet and yours.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use OrangeTill. By using our service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Because we use magic link authentication (no passwords), the security of your email inbox is your primary line of defense. Do not share magic links with anyone.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
OrangeTill offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from within your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not offer prorated refunds for partial periods, but we're reasonable people, so if something goes wrong, reach out.
You agree to use OrangeTill only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use OrangeTill to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible by design. Once a customer sends Bitcoin to your wallet address, that transaction cannot be undone — not by OrangeTill, not by us, and not by any third party. This is a fundamental property of blockchain networks, not a limitation of our software.
OrangeTill never holds, processes, or has access to your funds. Payments go directly from your customer's wallet to your wallet. We are a display tool — we generate QR codes and log transactions, nothing more. Any dispute between you and a customer over a payment is entirely between you and your customer. OrangeTill has no ability to reverse, freeze, or intervene in any transaction.
Because Bitcoin payments are final, we strongly recommend that merchants communicate their refund policy clearly to customers before payment is made. If you choose to offer refunds, those are handled by you directly — by sending Bitcoin back to the customer from your own wallet. OrangeTill does not facilitate refunds.
Bitcoin's value fluctuates. OrangeTill may display approximate USD equivalents for informational purposes, but these are not guaranteed prices. We are not responsible for any losses resulting from price volatility between the time a payment is generated and when it is received.
Tax reporting for Bitcoin payments is your responsibility. Please consult a qualified tax professional familiar with cryptocurrency. Our Crypto Taxes guide is a starting point, not legal or tax advice.
OrangeTill does not collect, store, or have access to any information about your customers. When a customer pays you in Bitcoin, the transaction flows directly from their wallet to yours on the blockchain. OrangeTill never sees who your customer is, where they came from, or how much they spend over time. We generate QR codes. That's it.
This means that if your business is subject to any laws or regulations requiring you to identify, record, or report information about your customers — that compliance obligation rests entirely with you, not with OrangeTill.
OrangeTill is a display tool. We do not know who your customers are, and we have no mechanism to collect that information on your behalf. Any customer identification, record-keeping, or reporting required by law is your responsibility as the merchant.
Depending on your industry, location, and transaction volumes, you may be subject to regulations that require some level of customer identification or transaction reporting. These vary widely and may include:
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Laws change, and new regulations governing cryptocurrency acceptance by businesses are actively developing at both the state and federal level. OrangeTill is not a compliance tool, a legal advisor, or a financial institution. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified attorney or compliance professional familiar with cryptocurrency if you have questions about your specific obligations.
By using OrangeTill, you represent that you understand and accept sole responsibility for complying with all applicable laws and regulations governing your business, including any requirements related to customer identification, transaction reporting, and record-keeping.
OrangeTill, its logo, Hodl the Bitcoin Cat, and all content on our website and app are owned by Sofia Brands LLC and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
OrangeTill is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep the service running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Blockchain networks themselves are outside our control.
OrangeTill is built on Cloudflare's global infrastructure — one of the most reliable edge networks in the world — and is designed to be resilient and fast for merchants anywhere. However, because OrangeTill is a non-custodial tool, any downtime affects only your ability to generate new QR codes. Your wallet, your funds, and your payment history are never at risk from OrangeTill service interruptions. You can check current service status at cloudflarestatus.com.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sofia Brands LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of OrangeTill — including but not limited to lost crypto, missed transactions, or business losses.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of OrangeTill shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Hampshire.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Your continued use of OrangeTill after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
