Setting up your Public Profile (for merchants)

Getting your public profile live takes about two minutes inside the OrangeTill app.

Open Settings in OrangeTill
Scroll down to the Public Profile section. Toggle it on. You'll see a field for your profile URL.

Choose your slug
Your slug is the unique part of your URL — like your-coffee-shop or sarahs-farm. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Keep it short and recognizable. This becomes your permanent public address.

Tap Save & Publish
OrangeTill reads your wallet addresses directly from your Settings and builds your profile instantly. Your page is live the moment you tap the button.

Share your link
Tap Share → to copy your URL or send it directly. Print it on a sign, add it to your website, put it in your Instagram bio, or text it to a customer. Anywhere a link can go, you can accept Bitcoin.

Because OrangeTill doesn't sit between the transaction, it also doesn't automatically verify whether a payment was completed. To confirm receipt, check your Bitcoin wallet app directly — the payment will appear there once it's confirmed on the blockchain.

For small-value transactions like tips and donations, most merchants trust and move on. For larger amounts, glance at your wallet before finalizing the order.

Tips for getting the most out of your profile

Put your link everywhere

Your profile link is just a URL. It works anywhere a link can go — your website's "pay" page, your Instagram bio, a printed QR code on a sign, an email footer, a text to a client. The more places it appears, the more payment options your customers have.

Print a QR code for your counter or table

Visit your own profile URL, then use your phone or computer's screenshot tool to capture it. A QR code pointing to your profile URL lets customers scan directly to your payment page — perfect for tip jars, market stalls, or any spot where you want self-service payments without your phone involved.

Update your profile when you update your wallets

If you add a new wallet address in OrangeTill Settings, tap Save & Publish again to refresh your profile. Your profile is a snapshot of your Settings at the time you last published — it won't update automatically.

Can I change my slug later? ▼
Yes, but your old URL will stop working when you do. Anyone who bookmarked the old link or has it printed on a sign will need the new one. Choose a slug you plan to keep long-term — your business name is usually the safest bet.
Do customers need a Bitcoin wallet to pay? ▼
Yes — to actually send Bitcoin, your customer needs a wallet app with some crypto in it. OrangeTill generates the QR code; the customer's wallet app does the sending. If a customer doesn't have a wallet yet, point them to the OrangeTill wallet guide — it takes about 10 minutes to get set up with a free wallet like Muun or Blue Wallet.
What if a customer enters the wrong amount? ▼
The customer controls the amount — they enter it, they generate the QR, they send it. If they enter the wrong amount, the payment will be for the wrong amount. For situations where you need to control the exact amount (restaurant bills, invoices), use the main OrangeTill charge screen and the remote payment feature instead. The Public Profile Page is best for tip-style or donation-style payments where the customer sets the amount.
Can I see who paid me through my profile? ▼
Not through OrangeTill directly — the app doesn't receive transaction notifications. Check your wallet app's transaction history to see incoming payments. For Bitcoin, apps like Muun, Blue Wallet, and the Bitcoin.com Wallet show incoming transactions as soon as they're broadcast to the network, typically within seconds.
Is there a limit on payments through the profile page? ▼
No limits from OrangeTill's side. The limits are the blockchain's — Bitcoin transactions over a certain size may require additional network fees on the customer's end, but that's handled automatically by their wallet app. Your profile page can handle any number of visitors and any payment amount.
